Kairos-Chronos is a practical experiment with the aim of providing a robust "Temporal Beacon" for time travellers. This beacon is established by the implementation of three broad approaches:
1. UNIVERSAL MESSAGING
2. MAXIMUM DISPERSAL AND CULTURAL PENETRATION
3. WIDE VARIETY OF MEDIUMS
1. UNIVERSAL MESSAGING
2. MAXIMUM DISPERSAL AND CULTURAL PENETRATION
3. WIDE VARIETY OF MEDIUMS

1. UNIVERSAL MESSAGING
The secrets locked within stone tablets, prehistoric murals and ancient buildings has intrigued scholars for centuries. However for all their endeavours, the intent of the author/creator is often ambiguous and at best only discernible by a select few. As society evolves our cultural relevance will in turn diminish; rendered inconsequential by the inexorable progress of time. Consequently any robust effort to communicate spatiotemporally must negate all cultural contamination and embrace universality.
So to ensure that the time and position is understood and carried through future (unknown) cultures the message must be understood with no knowledge of any known language today. For example if the time and position is detailed in English, perhaps 500 years from now, history will have unfolded such that English is no longer understood. So the time and position (4D coordinate) must be transcribed such that it can be understood by someone with no knowledge of any current human language/culture.
The Pioneer Plaque is one such attempt to communicate abstractly with the unknown and provides an suitable platform with which we may begin. It used a drawing to depict the position of earth relative to the centre of the galaxy and 14 pulsars (the pulsars being used to approximate an absolute position in the universe)

2. MAXIMUM DISPERSION AND CULTURAL PENETRATION
If this project is to transform from dream to ubiquitous meme a critical mass of the population must be continually engaged. If the specifics are to endure the tumult as one Zeitgeist is usurped by the next then routine reaffirmation must be embraced. It is imperative that this assembly is seared onto the collective sentient memory of this planet.
In other words it is critical that this time and position is burned into the collective memory of humanity. Everyone in our current culture and future cultures should be aware and ideally transmit this date and time. One method of increasing cultural penetration and dispersion would be syncretic adoption of seasonal festivals to provide a recurrent inter-culturally competent frame of reference.

3. WIDE VARIETY OF MEDIUMS
It can be reasonably assumed that whatever is capable of responding to our invitation, whether it supersedes or replaces humanity; will be endowed with faculties such as sight, hearing and touch. It is also likely that they will have significant and perhaps very different cognitive abilities.
So the question becomes how best to communicate a message across numerous and unknown cultures.
One approach would be to enshrine the time and location in future history by creating monuments with the time and place carved into them. These monuments could be huge iconic structures such as the great pyramids or the Eiffel Tower. However, they may also be very modest structures located in town centres which encourage people/tourists to take photographs of themselves next to it. These photographs would of course then proliferate by being spread digitally using social media or printed on paper.
"Temporal-lighthouses" or "time-beacons" are limited only by imagination. They are absolutely not limited to carving onto stones/monuments. For example a musician my prefer to encode the time and place into a series of musical notes thus creating a song that is passed from person to person. Others will encode the time and position mathematically into a pattern of prime numbers which are spread digitally into as many computers/storage devices as possible. Further still other will utilise the following mediums comedy, graphical compositions, blog entrie, T.V. film and video productions, word of mouth
Using this broad spectrum methodology to transpose 4 dimensional spatiotemporal co-ordinates into to a robust medium not only accommodates the possibility of cultures evolving/developing senses/cognition it also mitigate the contorting consequences of abstruse lengths of time.
